The purpose of this blog is to provide classroom teachers an opportunity to refresh their passion for teaching, review the latest in research and ways to apply it in their classrooms, and to reflect on our teaching with celebrations when things go well and revisions to our strategies when the end result did not meet our expectations.

Another Moment...Step Aside...Reflect

What have I learned? Blogging has opened the door to a whole new world for me. Not only has it been a mode of relaxation, it has been an educational resource for me to learn more about current topics in education. Browsing the blogs has extended my learning well beyond educational issues. Goodness, I have read about recent publications, conference sessions, building cars, someone stealing blog content and how that was being addressed and the list goes on and on. You talk about Google Reader being another text. Man, you hit the nail on the head with that statement! My blog posts have been enhanced from the posts on Google Reader. Once a connection is made and the idea pops into my head, I’m off trying to learn more by googling to see what else I can find that supports or refutes my thoughts. It doesn’t stop!!!! I read and read…and learn and learn. If what I am experiencing is what others do when involved in blogging; then, opening the door to blogging in the classroom provides learning opportunities for our students well beyond what can be provided in a classroom and a single textbook.
